Have A Good Day

Her work is gaining momentum as many recognize the tremendous impact of the messages that flow through her.

The summer fun has swept me away and it suddenly occurs to me that September is just around the corner. This can be a challenging time of the year with school starting up and the very sudden and stark change of weather that comes with the onset of fall. This happens to be my favorite season as it is full of new beginnings, rest, cozy sweaters and warm beverages. Welcome fall!

I must admit that I have a favorite little experiment that I often engage in. As my days unfold, I try to catch people with direct eye contact, even just for a second, and offer them a smile. It is amazing how this simple gesture can make a huge difference on both an individual and collective level. Though this reminds me of a poem of mine called “Smile”, I am directed to share another one with you called “Have a Good Day”. I love wishing people a good day. Most of my days are what I would call “good”, or even better, and I wish this for all people. If I have a well of joy or peace within me, I want to share it.

Many people seem to love my contact in this way and I tend to make many wonderful friends wherever I go. This small gesture returns to me in abundance. The more I give, the more I receive. This is a marvelous cycle to observe. My poem, “Have a Good Day”, came to me as a way of explaining, beyond the four words, what it really is that I am trying to communicate when I say them.

My last performance was in a show that I co-created with two beautiful, local singer-song writers and we called it “Wise Words and Soulful Songs”. We were fortunate to perform in a yurt and the experience was simply magical. I opened the night with “Have a Good Day” and people loved it. Now, I will share it with you. I trust that it will touch a place in you and that you will be reminded of whatever you are in need of at this time. I wish that you would take this reminder and share it with others in your days. Wouldn’t it be such a great way for all of us to live?

Please check out my work if you haven’t already done so.  I am gaining momentum and any support that you can offer me is appreciated. Come and see one of my shows. I look forward to reaching beyond this article and meeting you in person!

Have a Good Day

My wish for you today
Is that you would move slowly
Dance freely
And smile openly

That time would not bind you
Governing everything you do
But all that you choose to do
Would be done with willing heart
Full of love and gratitude

May your attitude be of joy
Peace and faith
That you would face each moment
With courage, free from worry, pain, or fear

That you would take the time to hear
All the songs that nature sings
All the hymns that loving brings

I wish for you
That you would surrender to your senses
Jump over the fences
And let your feelings roll
Like the ocean’s waves that ebb and flow

I pray for your deepest breath
And your soundest sleep
May you feel the hands your comfort keep

Oh, that today you would know your beauty
Feel life bubble through your pores, your veins
And spill out
Quenching you and all those who cross your path this day

That you would feel your shine
Sparkle and glow and not shy away
Today, that you might allow your greatest self to come out and play

Most of all, for today, I pray
That you might remember who you are
Where you came from
Why you are here
And where you are headed as you walk these days, these steps
With full awareness of your divine goodness and worth

Remember that you are precious
Perfection rearranging itself
You are safe, secure, nurtured, beloved
And lived by all that is
You are never alone

So today, no matter who you are
If I know you or not
When we intersect in our ways
And I seek your smile
Wishing you a good day
This is what I mean
