We are a vibrant island full to the brim with just about every product and service you can imagine, and yet we’re decided to live here, a 20 minute ferry ride from downtown Nanaimo. And, you might ask why? To this I would ask you to come and find out!

Life on Gabriola can be as laid-back or solitary as you’d like, or active in pursuit of your passions in the myriad of groups, clubs, organizations with like-minded exploring the inlets and outlets in discussion, word, expression of all genres. And, yes, we have an elementary school.
I’m actively involved in our Gabriola community of 4,500 residences, of diversified age groups. The Lions Club of Gabriola where “we serve” as our motto. Gabriola Arts Council where I am a major supporter of the arts. Gabriola Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Centre member, a wealth of information, events, connecting people with business, business with people. Gabriola Museum, member and supporter. Silva Bay Yacht Club member, gets me out on the ocean, and I love kayaking. My garden is a place of peace and creativity, I’m a member of our Gabriola Garden Club.

Vintage car club on Gabriola, sporting vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles, the Gabriola Cruisers is three years in the making and wow’s me with their easy of expertise, and of course car rallies to Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Qualicum and places beyond. You’ll have to guess what car is mine!
I’ve been told you’ll find me everywhere, and that could be true, so that’s why I can safely say, that if you have a question – I’ll have the answer. You can count on it!
A bit about me. Struck by Gabriola, I landed mostly by accident about 15 years ago, moved from the city and settled in. My finger is on the pulse of the city, business, real estate and global economies all easy to navigate on my cell with Telus and Shaw. Gabriola offers a sense of distance and connected in the same breath. Getting there is as easy as hoping on a plane from Silva Bay, or downtown Nanaimo. I can walk to most everything I need, and I talk to most everyone along the way.

Our infrastructure for medical, fire responders, electricity, RCMP, Wi-Fi, cell service, shopping, services, recreation, will leave you wondering, why am I not surprised? Take a page from me, walk the trails provided for us by Gabriola Land and Trails Trust. Breathe in that beautiful air, listen to a burbling brook, stand in one place and listen.
