Autumn Greetings Island Women! This is my favorite time of year.
I love the colors, the leaves, the crisp air, warm sweaters, toques and most certainly, I adore a warm mug of tea. Autumn brings an invitation to dig deep if we choose to, and investigate aspects of our journeys that we might need to let go of. As the trees shed their leaves, letting go of old in preparation to receive new birth in spring, we too can see our lives this way.
I encourage you to consider what you are ready to release. What can you let go of now? How might this surrender feel? I assure you that this process is not easy but there are great rewards. This time of year is hard enough, with the sudden and rapid shifting of season, weather, temperature, and the light of summer quickly turning to fog, with darker days approaching. Emotions can be tricky at this time and I am here to offer encouragement. Hang in there; you are amazing beneath all the layers of life and stories. I truly wish that you would remember your extreme worth and beauty, despite anything that our world tries to promote.
As I have been in my own deeper emotional process of release and regeneration, this precious poem came to me. I reflected on how blessed I am to have so many excellent relationships with truly beautiful people and suddenly, I was given the opportunity to see us human beings as if we were extraordinary works of art. What a joy this was! I wish to share with you the poem called “Handcrafted Masterpiece” that flowed through me, in hopes that it might give you warmth as you do the work of this season. Handcrafted Masterpiece
I have roamed the gallery aisles
Listened to piles of music
Handled the most exquisite treasures
And I am sure
That you are a wondrous work of art
Created within the heart of love
You are a unique, original, one of a kind
Handcrafted masterpiece
All your lines, curves, angles, and textures
Are pure confection
Such perfection
Inspection deeper than the odd bumps bruises of time and story
Reveals such brilliance, radiance, and glory
My soul wants to dance
When I behold you
You are brushed with rich and vivid color
Sculpted with careful precision
Your beauty is far deeper and greater
Than you have believed
Been deceived
Your eyes show a fire that still burns hot
All the parts that you’ve got
Arranged just so
That below
The surface there is a stunning, breathtaking
Compelling story of your life
Where love’s battles and glory weave through
Every fibre of your exterior
You may feel inferior
But truly, you are superior
Made with the highest quality
That I can see
The sun, moon, and star shine
