Go Confidently into Summer

Patryka Designs is a women’s fashion boutique featuring an excellent array of local, national and international clothing lines in sizes 4 to 18 (regular and petit) hand-picked by owner Patricia Jeffs and manager Danielle Ford. Our boutique’s unique ambiance is a fusion of Vancouver Island culture and Mediterranean décor where you will find beautiful local brands like Chloë Angus, Canadian brands like Cotton Country and Simply, much-loved international brands like FDJ and Joseph Ribkoff, and so much more.

It is that wondrous time of year again, where anything is possible.Sun-drizzled horizons, aqua skies, and long golden days. This is the time for every woman to blossom into that fabulous flower nurtured inside. From the mind-bending beauty of Joseph Ribkoff to the mellow and sensual flow of Sympli designs, we have styles for every unique personality. Our fashions give women the confidence that they can be or do anything.

‘Marie Claire’ magazine doesn’t mince words in its overview of the new trends in fashion for summer 2018: ‘We’ve got two words: Fashion Prozac. Designers reacted (to world events) in the only way they know how – with uplifting, colourful, joyous clothes that took us off into another universe. Kaleidoscopes of rainbow colour, the yummy new sugared almond pastels, some powerful 80s power dressing, and texture and fringing galore. The message: the outlook might be a little gloomy right now, but at least we can dress ourselves happy’.

At our one-of-a-kind boutique, we go a step further. Beyond simply ‘happy’, our fashions infuse women with the confidence that they too can be beautiful and powerful in their own way.

In her book, ‘Mind What You Wear: The Psychology of Fashion’, psychology professor Karen Pine shows how clothes can boost your confidence, bolster your self-esteem, or lift your mood. Reflecting her philosophy, the most helpful fashion tips for summer 2018 are to trust your gut and create an individual style that makes you feel like a star on the red carpet, and to be bold and take advantage of the vivid and flamboyant new colours, pastels and fringes of this sunny fashion season to dazzle the crowd. But most important, to wow yourself!

PatrYka fashion lines are confidence-builders. Every time I wear my new Joseph Ribkoff dress from our boutique, I can feel the transformation within. His creations are masterpieces of artistic design, articulated in striking colour and panache. Wearing his work of art, how could I feel anything but confident and glamorous?  Created by women for women, FDJ combines easy care and wear fabrics in a collection of essential styles and fashion pieces that offer beautiful patterns, lines, and curves that make me feel like I am 20 again – with all the youthful bravado and confidence of that age.

We are thrilled with our Dolcezza fashions. The designer’s flair for art and abstraction weaves through their unique and stunning prints, landscapes and modern art that adorn their form-fitting dresses, blouses, and jackets. This fashion line was meant to make the wearer stand out from the crowd, an irresistible silhouette against a summer sky. Our popular Sympli fashions do not stay on the rack for long. Beauty is never sacrificed in their fashions that are designed for ease of wearing. Their clothes drape over the body with perfect elegance and grace. To the company, ‘there is nothing more important than feeling comfortable in your own skin.’ Anyone wearing a Sympli dress will have the confidence to be her own version of ‘fabulous.’

These examples are just a taste of our illustrious collection of designer fashions. Please visit us in beautiful Mill Bay to enjoy the full experience of our wide variety of renowned labels.

So, ladies, spread your wings this summer and relish the sun and fun in our island paradise. But make sure to do it with cool aplomb in one of our ego-building fashions.
